Rescheduling or cancelling your test

One rule matters: 3 days. Change or cancel at least 3 days before your appointment and you keep your £50. Later than that, it's gone.

آخر تحقق: 15 July 2026

How to reschedule

  1. Sign in to the account you booked with on gov.uk.
  2. Open your booking and choose to change the appointment.
  3. Pick a new date, time or centre — no extra charge if you're within the 3-day window.

How to cancel

Cancel from the same account. Cancel at least 3 days before your appointment for a full refund of the £50 fee; after that, no refund. Refunds go back to the card you paid with.

Should you reschedule?

If you're behind on preparation, moving the test two weeks out is far cheaper than a failed attempt (another £50 plus a 7-day wait). Check your readiness honestly: sit a free timed mock — if you're consistently at 20+ out of 24, keep your date.

Rescheduling FAQ

Can I change my test centre?

Yes — rescheduling through your gov.uk account lets you pick a new date, time and centre, as long as you do it at least 3 days before your current appointment.

I'm ill on test day — can I get a refund?

Missing your appointment normally means losing the fee. If exceptional circumstances apply, contact the test provider via gov.uk as early as you can — but don't count on it.

How many times can I reschedule?

There's no published hard limit, but each change must respect the 3-day rule. If your plans are uncertain, book further out rather than rescheduling repeatedly.
