Frequently asked questions

Is the Life in the UK Test hard?

Most people who prepare in a structured way pass. The test is 24 questions in 45 minutes with a pass mark of 18 (75%). The difficulty is the breadth: questions can come from any part of the handbook, which is why a plan that covers all five chapters — and reviews what you get wrong — matters more than raw hours.

Are your questions the real exam questions?

No — and be wary of any site that claims otherwise. Real exam questions are not published. Our questions are original, written to the same format and difficulty, and every one cites the handbook chapter and section it tests so you can verify the fact yourself.

Do I need to pay to practise?

No. The demo drill, free mock tests, and the first section of every chapter are free without limits on time. One payment of £12.99 (VAT included, no subscription) unlocks all 40+ mocks, unlimited drills, full spaced-repetition decks and every cheat sheet for 12 months.

Can I study in my own language?

Yes — explanations, lessons and the glossary are available in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Arabic, Polish, Romanian, Portuguese, Chinese (Simplified), Russian and Spanish. Questions always stay in English, because the real test is in English.

Where do I book the real test?

Only on gov.uk. It costs £50, and you should book at least 3 days ahead. We never take bookings, and no third party can book it cheaper — anyone charging more than £50 is adding a middleman fee for a form you can fill in yourself in 10 minutes.

What happens if I fail?

You can retake the test as many times as you need — you just wait at least 7 days and pay £50 per attempt. If you've already failed once, our retaker route starts with a diagnostic mock and builds a plan around only your weak areas.
